Currently, it’s the fourth-tallest hotel in the Western Hemisphere, and the 30th tallest all-hotel building in the world, according to Wikipedia. It was the tallest hotel in the world (a moniker emblazoned on this disco-era vase) for one whole year, bested in 1977 by the nearly-identical Detroit Plaza Hotel.
